Clearance

The GNR-Brigada Fiscal, Policia Maritima and Alfandega have offices in the marina reception building. Enquire on first arrival whether or not it is necessary to visit them. If anchored off, the skipper should call at all three offices with ships papers, passports etc.

Docking

The marina is a few hundred metres up river from the harbour entrance and is very sheltered. Access is all-tide. On arrival, berth on the arrivals pontoon on the sta'board side, just before the lifting bridge. This bridge opens on request, 8am to 10pm (summer) and 9am to 7pm(winter).

It is possible to anchor NE of the harbour mole. This is exposed to easterly and southerly winds and some SW swell.

This marina on the Algarve coast is rapidly gaining in popularity with cruising sailors. Its facilities are of the highest standard and mooring prices lower than in similar marinas elsewhere. WiFi. On arrival must stop at long receiption pontoon, starboard of the marine entrance. The usual services and also chandlery, bank, provisions, bar, restaurant and launderette. 462 berths and 35 ton travel hoist.
