  Safi : Profile

Clearance

Safi is a large commercial port and fishing harbour. Port control (CH 16) maintains 24 hour radio watch and will direct yachts where to berth for clearance. Customs, police and immigration will come to the yacht; formalities are reported to be straightforward. Yachts can be left there, if you pay someone to look after the yacht as you might have to move when a cargo ship arrives. Harbour fees are calculated by the ton by the port authorities and payable on departure.

Although there is a controlled port gate, entrance is widely granted as people go to the fishing port. Safi is a nice, clean city with a fascinating medina, spares for fishing boats are available.
