  Viska Luka (Viz) : Profile

Location

The island of Viz is the most westerly of the islands belonging to Croatia. It is a quieter and less developed than most due to it being off limits to foreigners until 1989.

Position 43°03.6'N, 16°11.8'E (port).

Clearance

Port of Entry in summer only.

In winter, Split must be used.

The customs quay is marked by a flag and the police office is just across the road. The Harbour Master's office is opposite the ferry pier, next to the tourist office.

Docking

The port is on the north coast of the island. It is popular with Italian yachts, so an early arrival is advised to obtain a berth.

Berth stern-to on the SW side of the harbour, or to the quay at the village of Kut where shelter is better in a south westerly.

There are several anchorages in the vacinity but ensure your anchor penetrates the weed.
