There are some reports of Customs authorities being somewhat relaxed with private yacht arrivals. However, Noonsite recommends checking with authorities and not taking this relaxed policy for granted.

Prohibited Items include:

• Drugs and their derivatives and products  including poppy seeds, coca seeds, marijuana
  seeds, marijuana derivatives containing over 10ppm of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), etc.
• Firearms (pistol, air guns, etc.), ammunition (bullets, explosives, etc.), police weapons
  (handcuffs, expandable batons, etc.), and knives (sharpened samurai swords, brass knuckles, crossbow, etc.)
• Fake or spurious currencies or securities, or moulds for printing counterfeit currency.
• Articles infringing upon the rights of patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
• Meat products including pork

An import permit for Cats or Dogs must be obtained at least 20 days prior to entry into the country.

Current Regulations for Importing Dogs and Cats into Taiwan

Yachts may stay at a Port of Entry indefinitely. At other ports the maximum stay is three months, then you must go to a different country and then you can come back again.

When bringing medications into Taiwan, you should bring a prescription from a hospital, clinic or doctor stating that the medicines are for the use of the individual on the prescription label. The amount brought in must be consistent with the amount on the prescription.
