Guinea-Bissau - Immigration
Guinea-Bissau Immigration Procedure for Yacht Crew
Passports must be valid for at least six months.
Visitors should carry I.D. (eg., a passport) at all times.
Do I need a Visa?
Passport holders of Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) countries do not require a visa to visit Guinea-Bissau for tourism purposes.
Many countries can apply for a Visa on Arrival. This visa is a multiple-entry visa which means you can enter or leave the country as many times as you wish within the validity of the visa.
Visitors should check with their home countries to see if they require a visa to visit Guinea-Bissau.
Visitors can confirm current requirements and apply for an eVisa online through the Republic of Guinea-Bissau eVisa page or visit Guinea-Bissau’s embassy in Senegal or The Gambia to arrange a visa (if required).
Length of Stay
Visas are valid for a maximum duration of 90 Days within a period of one year.
CAUTION: There are limited consular/embassy services in Guinea-Bissau. There may be no embassy to assist if you are arrested or lose your passport. Most diplomatic services are handled via Senegal. There is a UK Consul, but there is no US Embassy. The US State Department maintains a “virtual consulate” online here.
