COVID19: SUPPLY/REFUGE PORT FOR YACHTS IN TRANSIT
Dutch ports on the Wadden Islands opened on Friday 15 May including Terschelling (port of entry), Texel, Vlieland, Ameland and Schiermonnikoog. These ports can be used by yachts in transit however simply for a rest stop as there are no facilities at this time. Restrictions include:
- only a small numbers of visitors are allowed as mooring is only permitted next to the pontoon reducing available berths to approx. 10% of the normal;
- it is obligatory to announce your intended visit a minimum of one day in advance, no reservations possible;
- maximum of 2 persons on board a yacht unless all are family;
- visiting yachts need to be self reliant as no shore facilities are open. Remember, it is not permitted in the Netherlands to pump black water overboard.

Description:
Vlieland is one of the Frisian islands. It is the one east of Texel. The town of Oost Vlieland is on the extreme eastern tip of the island. It is a very attractive town with a popular yacht harbour.
Position: 53° 17.66’N, 05° 05.51’E (marina entrance)
Clearance
This is no longer a Port of Entry as there is no customs port here.
Docking
In the height of the season, it is sometimes closed to visitors, who then have to anchor outside.
Beware of the strong tidal currents when entering or leaving the narrow entrance to this harbour. This also causes whirlpools which can catch out the unwary helmsman.
Since the recent renovations, this harbour has good, modern facilities including a restaurant and a small provision store.
Many more provisions can be obtained in the village.
