The Galapagos National Park Authority have unveiled a revised entry fee structure for the Galápagos Islands which will be introduced from August 1, 2024.

For the first time in quarter of a century, the Galapagos National Park is updating its fees and doubling the entry fee from 1 August, 2024.

In announcing the new fee structure, Mr Arturo Izurieta, from The Galapagos National Park Authority (GPNA) and the Minister of Tourism Niels Olsen stated that the new fee system shows Ecuador’s commitment to safeguarding the unique ecosystem of the islands, thus ensuring their preservation for the benefit of future generations.

“For the first time in over a quarter of a century, the entry fees to the Galapagos Island will undergo an adjustment. The decision follows an extensive deliberation and underscores the urgent need for sustainable tourism practices within the archipelago,”said Niels Olsen, Minister of Tourism.

“The Galápagos Islands are not only a national treasure but a global one. It is our collective responsibility to protect and preserve this unparalleled ecosystem for future generations.  The adjustment in the entry fee, the first time in 26 years, is a necessary measure to ensure that tourism in the Galapagos remains sustainable and mutually beneficial to both the environment and our local communities”.

The Galapagos Park entry fee is just one of the many fees that visiting yachts have to pay to enter Galapagos. Currently at US$100 per adult and US$50 for under 12’s, this fee will increase to US$200 per adult and US$100 per child from 1 August, 2024.
