Shavit Marina and Fisherman Wharf are one of the oldest, most beautiful, and safest Marinas in Israel, with a capacity of 400 boats in a water depth of 4m. The Marina is located at the Kishon River estuary, in Haifa’s main harbor and it is owned by Israel Ports Company.
Shavit Marina is a port of entry to Israel, and passport control is operated 24/7.
Services include electricity, water, cathodic protection, toilets, and showers. Marina staff are happy to assist you with all your needs/questions and help solve any problem.
Dredging operations take place here during the winter, from October through December. If planning on visiting early Spring, be sure to contact the marina beforehand to check they are open, as the marina closes for dredging.
The main canal is 4 meters deep. Between the floating docks, the depth ranges between 2.5-3 meters. Dredging winter 2023 should give depths of 4m.
There is a convenience store that sells food, snacks, a cold beverage, some groceries, coffee, beer, etc. There is also WIFI available in the shop. As of May 2023 there is no free WIFI throughout the marina – only at the marina office and the convenience store.
To view the marina map, see here.
It is a port of entry, however, there are no immigration & customs offices on site. The officials will be summoned by the navy boat that interrogates you when entering Israeli waters and will come over from the commercial port. Sometimes they already wait for you and sometimes you may wait for them.
After you enter the marina, you should turn to starboard, there is a waiting dock there.
