Location

Not a tourist town but Tunisia's most important commercial centre. Good value souvenirs can be purchased here. Worth a visit.

Docking

Sfax is the best protected port in the country. It has never been closed due to bad weather. The adjacent Kerkennah Islands and the surrounding shallows offer excellent protection from both wind and seas. Phosphate dust from the commercial dock may be a problem when the wind is from the NNE.
