Amsterdam : Profile
The port basins in the western port area are not accessible to pleasure vessels, but there are several other options available to yachts. The Amsterdam port and surrounding areas have numerous yacht basins offering moorings. A number of these companies also carry out repair work or offer docking facilities.
Extensive work is currently (2006) being carried out around the Stationseiland for the construction of a new railway line. This means that there are temporarily no mooring facilities around Central Station, and that construction pontoons and work vessels operate on the water.
