A busy ferry port on the east bank of the river Ems, which marks the border with The Netherlands.
There are several berthing options. One on the seaward side of the Nesserland lock and several more through the lock into the city centre.
Beyond the City Marina is the Ems-Jade canal (clearance 3.75m, depth 1.7m), leading the 40 miles to Wilhelmshaven.

All are managed by Reederie AG Ems. Access is through the 2 road/rail bridges. Launderette, pump-out facilities.

If a later exit is required on a Sunday, exit via the Vorhafen lock with the commercial traffic.
