St. Kitts & Nevis, Majors Bay – St Kitts: Anchor Line Interfered With

After anchoring in Majors Bay on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts, cruisers found their anchor line had been interfered with when their anchor alarm sounded early one morning.

DETAILS: 

A yacht anchored at 2.5M depth in Major’s Bay, St.Kitts. They dove the 35Kg anchor and all was well. The crew awoke at 0300HRS when their anchor alarm sounded. They retrieved the anchor and found a line had been carefully tied into it, and then cut off. The shackle on the anchor remained seized. They re-anchored and noticed a singlehander on an adjacent yacht seemed to be dragging as well. He departed. The police were informed.
