On July 21st 2013, a 2012 10′ Achilles RIB with 2005 9.9 YAMAHA, 2 stroke engine stolen while locked with 3/8″ cable and lock at Barnacles dock in between hours of 10:30 AM and 4:30 PM. The dock is not isolated and is a known dock for cruisers to tie up to. We used it several time during the week we were in Sint Maarten with no trouble.

The dock is in front of several restaurants and a local grocery store.  The restaurants were Barnacles Greek Restaurant, Curry in a Hurry Restaurant and Grand Marche Supermarket.  The dock itself was a small boat marina where motor boats are hoisted on lifts out of the water.  The supermarket does provide security for the grocery store.

The dinghy belonged to SV Virtue & Vice. The incident was reported to local police.
