While the owners and crew slept onboard their yacht anchored off Canouan – Charlestown Bay (Tamarind Hotel), a thief entered the yacht’s salon and stole a smartphone that was being used as an anchor alarm.

STOLEN ITEMS: Samsung A12 smartphone
SECURED: Not Locked.

DETAILS:  While owners and crew slept onboard a thief entered the yacht’s salon and stole the smartphone that was being used as an anchor alarm. The crew was awakened when the anchor alarm activated but the delay allowed the thief to escape. No other items were taken. A police report was made.

CSSN NOTE: Many (25) similar events have occurred in this location since 2015, the last reported to CSSN was in 2019. Consider taking appropriate precautions if planning to anchor overnight in Canouan.
