Minorca – Port of Mahon, Cruisers Beware
Published 12 years ago, updated 4 years ago
Menorca has taken a turn for the worst.
Upon entering (Port Mahon) one is confronted with a marine police boat with flashing lights. No anchoring is permitted in the harbour.
Boats are directed to the marinas that charge 150 euros per night for a 50 foot (in our case) boat. There are no showers and water/electricity are extra. No receipts are given. There is only one fuel quay where the waiting is very long.
A lot of the restaurants have gone bust and the remaining ones are expensive.
