STOLEN ITEMS: Caribe dinghy / 9.8HP Tohatsu (engine/fuel tank later recovered)
A cruiser locked their Caribe dinghy / 9.8HP Tohatsu engine to the fisherman’s dock in Tyrrel Bay, Carriacou at 1700HRS. At 2200HRS when he returned, it was gone.
The next day, a Facebook user reported that the police had found an engine. Apparently the thief was interrupted and abandoned the engine/fuel tank on a nearby beach, where the police found and collected it. The owner retreived the engine from the Hillsborough police station, but the dinghy remains missing.
A 3.1 meter dinghy with a 18HP Tohatsu outboard (SN 021691AD) was stolen on September 6. It was well locked to the Tyrell bay dinghy dock and was stolen between 2100HRs and 0900HRs. Reports were made to the marina, port captain and a police report was planned.
