Arrived Portsmouth Feb 24, 2015, to meet up with several other boats we’ve been travelling with.

Can’t say enough good things about the PAYS organisation. The winds were very, very high and many boats not on moorings went drifting by – but the PAYS guys were always there to rescue boats and lend a hand. We also found the security good.

The vegetable market, especially on Saturday mornings, is amazing and all the people are friendly. When shopping for groceries try the small stores first. You can also walk to the IGA near the Custom’s dock, but you need to get there soon after they get a shipment in 0 so if the shelves are bare come back in a few days.

We really enjoyed the hiking, both the ones around town and the guided tours to the various waterfalls. The PAYS BBQ was also fun – we went to 3! You can snorkel on your own near the cruise ship dock. We bought WiFi from HotHotHotSpot and found it good except for a two day period when the squalls just kept on coming. But Nem’s Bar, Felix’s and Purple Turtle have WiFi ashore.

Clearance is especially easy. If you aren’t staying for more than 2 weeks you can clear in and out all at one time. We were staying a month, so cleared in at Portsmouth and out in Roseau.

This is one of our favourite islands (next to Belize and Jamaica and St Kitts-Nevis).
