Immigration Procedure:

Passports must be valid for a minimum of six months from the date of expected departure.

Nationals from a number of countries do not require visas, or will have them issued free of charge on arrival. Find out if your country is on the list by going to the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tourist Visa Table [https://mfa.gov.il].

Other nationalities must apply for visas in advance and pay a fee.

Normally a three month stay is granted on arrival.

Entry stamps are no longer added to foreign passports. Instead, visitors
are issued with the Entry card which should be kept with your passport
at all times. The card is evidence of your legal entry into Israel. Authorities may ask for it during your stay.

If cruising onwards to any middle-east countries where an Israeli stamp in your passport might be a problem, request to have your stamp put on a separate piece of paper and inserted in your passport.

Other Visa Information:

After three months, one can apply for a visa or extension of a visa at a Ministry of the Interior office. This extension is usually for a further three months. Contact their call center at: *3450 or dial 12223450.

Extensions after the initial three months will automatically be stamped in the passport.

Herzliya Marina is an excellent port of call when visiting Israel. It is a port of entry and has a range of services at the marina and nearby (restaurants, hotels, marine facilities, etc). Guest dock facilities are the best of all the marinas in Israel. Easy transportation to the tourist sites in Jerusalem, etc.

Tel-Aviv marina is no longer port of entry for several years now. Visitors need to enter through Herzliya marina, about 6NM to the north of Tel-Aviv marina.

Eilat, Israel – entry should be arranged in advance otherwise yachts will be stopped by Israeli Navy at the border and possibly denied entry. Expect strong northerly winds the whole way up the gulf if Aqaba even on grid forecasts with light winds, it is a major funnel effect because of the high mountains on both sides.
