World Cruising Club: March News

The World ARC 2024-25 yachts have begun their 2980NM ocean crossing from San Cristobal in Galapagos, to Hiva Ova in the Marquesas, while the World ARC 2023-24 fleet is on passage between Brazil and Grenada before finishing their adventure in Saint Lucia in early April, celebrating a 26,000NM circumnavigation.

Ocean Cruising Seminar

A weekend of learning from the experts with fellow sailors. Ideal for anyone planning to do ARC or World ARC, the weekend is a mix of presentations and a mini exhibition of useful equipment and services with time for one-to-one discussions and chats with other cruisers. Includes Saturday dinner with a talk from Bones and Anna Black of yacht Emily Morgan.

Bluewater Open Day

Saint Lucia World Cruising Club Rendezvous

Everyone is welcome to a cruising rendezvous in Saint Lucia – World ARC sailors, ARC sailors and bluewater cruisers. Get together to share stories and meet new friends. Free drinks & nibbles reception at Sea Salt followed by a cash bar.

ARC Portugal 2024:  Social Cruise South

There are a few places left on ARC Portugal 2024.  Start your voyage to the Mediterranean or delivery to the Canaries with this relaxed and intimate cruise in company. Meet in Plymouth for social and safety activities, before a mass crossing of the Bay of Biscay to Bayona.

From Bayona there is a series of day sails with excursions ashore to finish at Marina de Lagos – the perfect place to explore the Algarve or rest before heading to Gibraltar, Morocco, Madeira or the Canaries.  2024 is the 30th edition of ARC Portugal, so there will be some special celebrations along the route.

  • Start: Plymouth 6 June.
  • Finish: Lagos 3 July 2024

World Cruising Club Rally Updates

ARC & ARC+

ARC+ from Las Palmas to Grenada via Cape Verde in November is now full with a waiting list.  There is still room for a dozen more boats on the ARC from Las Palmas to Saint Lucia also in November, so please book your place as soon as possible.

ARC Europe

ARC Europe from Sint Maarten to Lagos, Portugal via Bermuda and the Azores is also fully booked. Entries for the 2025 rally will open this summer.

World ARC

The World ARC 2024-25 yachts have begun their 2980NM ocean crossing from San Cristobal in Galapagos, to Hiva Ova in the Marquesas, while the World ARC 2023-24 fleet is on passage between Brazil and Grenada before finishing their adventure in Saint Lucia in early April, celebrating a 26,000NM circumnavigation.

There are still a few spaces available for World ARC 2025 departing Saint Lucia in January 2025 (or from Australia in September 2025). If you’re interested in joining the rally, please enquire soon. We’ll open the 2026-27 rally for entries this summer.
