UK: New Online Reporting System for Arriving and Departing Sailors

A new online reporting system for all sailors leaving and returning to the UK should go live later this year. It is designed to replace the current paper-based C1331 check-in and check-out system.

The new system, which is to be called “Submit A Pleasure Craft Report”, will be available from the gov.uk website later this year, and will replace the existing C1331 check-in/check-out system, according to a report by Yachting Monthly.

Since the end of the Brexit transition period on 31 December 2020, cruisers have been required to fill out the C1331 customs declaration form with details of their boat, crew, and departure and arrival destinations and dates, every time they travel out of or into UK waters.

Currently, the form can only be sent by post to the Border Force team in Dover and if a voyage is delayed by more than 24 hours, then a new form has to be submitted.

While there are no plans to develop an app to ease the entry and departure process, the new online form will be a welcome convenience for cruisers in UK waters.
