OpenSeaMap has added new charts for OpenCPN

5 March 2018 update includes 12 collections of KAP raster navigational charts.

Each chart bundle contains several hundred charts in different scales from overview to harbor charts. Collections covered by OpenSeaMap as of May 2016 can be downloaded for the following regions:

Magellan Strait 17.1.2017 ~25M

Some people have reported that the links are not working on: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/KAP-charts_from_OpenSeaMap

However, on the same page is a link to the download directory on the server:

ftp://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/misc/openstreetmap/openseamap/charts/kap/

This link works. It does not have all the same chart collections as on the wiki page – some are missing and there are some extra. The files ending in .7z downloaded and extracted fine using Winzip.

      No. I’ve been using it for years, you just need to have the chart files.
