Nature Fee:
Currently, there are different fees for scuba diving and other water activities, such as snorkelling or kite surfing. There are also additional fees to enter the Washington Slagbaai National Park.
This can be confusing and unfair that one activity costs more than the other. Starting in 2023, there will be only one calendar year fee of $40 which will cover all water activities in the Bonaire National Marine Park. The new 2023 Nature Fee also includes entrance to Washington Slagbaai National Park.
The 2023 Nature Fee can be purchased online. If you have purchased a 2022 Nature Fee, it will be valid until January 2023. The grace period is helpful for visitors planning to ring in the New Year on Bonaire.

Exceptions:
All children under 13 years old, Bonairian residents and sister islands of Curacao, Aruba, Saba, Sint Maarten and Sint Eustasius will be completely except from the Nature Fee.
Mooring Fee:
The rates for use of the mooring buoys in the National Marine park are to be adjusted. From January 12, 2023, visiting yachts will have to pay $35 per night for a so-called ‘overnight mooring’ (previously $10 per night). Bonaire residents pay $1000 per year for a private buoy.
