This is located shortly after the airport in a westerly direction and is the home base for Sunsail Charters, Moorings and Tahiti Yacht Charter. It has a visitors dock with power (220V, 50 XPF each KWh) and water. Other services include laundry, fuel, WiFi, bar, restaurants, yacht charter companies, and a dive school.
There is limited space for visitors (4 to 5 boats) on the visitor's dock which is first-come-first-served. They do however sometimes have space on the outer wall (Med moor) and have a number of moorings outside the marina.
The area is well secured and there are some shops a 15 min walk away.
By boat, the marina can be reached from several passes: from the west side by Miri-Miri pass (3 miles), from the East side by the Teavapiti pass (5 miles) and from the north by the Paipai pass in Taha'a (6 miles).
The marina is nearby two shipyards which offer haulout services:
Raiatea Carénage Services and Chantier Naval des Iles-sous-le-le-vent.

Apooiti Marina

We were collecting our new water maker parts from our agent and so she arranged a visitor mooring for us at Apooiti Marina. The agent Nathalie from Iaorana Yacht Services was the only agent who responded promptly and gave all the answers to our questions. That is why we used them rather than an agent in Tahiti. She brought our package to the boat, arranged for all our laundry to be done , an electrician to go up the mast and for us to hire a car . Nathalie speaks perfect English and we would definitely recommend her. No fuss, no problems.

When we went back to this marina, Natalie organised some other services for us even though she was on holiday.
Recycling bins available, toilets and showers. There’s a small supermarket 2 minutes walk from the marina but it doesn’t stock much fresh fruit & veg.
When we had to return to this marina to have the electrician come out again for another issue, we just went onto the visitor mooring and then booked in at the marina office. There are also many mooring buoys outside the marina.
