Pilotage: We first approached Esperanza between Cayo Real and Cayo de Tierra but found depths to be much less than charted. At around the anchor symbol south of the pier we chickened out, reversed our course and, leaving Cayo Real to starboard and anchored outside moorings to the west of the pier.
Anchorage: After a trip ashore we shifted anchorage to the eastern side of Sun Bay. Good shelter and good holding.
Ashore: Limited grocery shopping in Esperanza with a few bars and restaurants. Sun Bay has good walking trails.
