Cuba, Cayo Largo

August 2020

When we left Cienfuegos we were told that we could go to Cayo Largo. By the time we got here, though, we were not allowed to do anything but anchor. Having said that, the anchorage is glorious, clear sapphire blue water teeming with fish, absolutely calm, sheltered and normally also teeming with thousands of package holiday makers. While we were there, apart from a couple of French yachts we saw nobody until we were told that we were no longer welcome and had to leave. Outward clearance was completed at arm’s reach with an official on the local dive boat.
