Porto Santo : Profile
There are some pontoons for yachts in this large harbour. Formalities are normally completed during office hours. The captain should report to the Port Captain's office on the north side of the harbour, as well as the Guarda Fiscal and the Policia Maritima. Even if arriving from Funchal and already possessing a transit log, one still has to report to all these offices.
Permits for visiting the outlying islands can be obtained here.
There is a marina in the NW part of the harbour and it is also possible to anchor in this large, sheltered port. There is a charge of about E12 for anchoring but use of the facilities in the marina is included. The holding is excellent.
Water and electricity are laid on to the pontoons and there are showers at the end of the dock.
