Canton : Profile
This atoll in the Phoenix Group of Islands is a former US satellite tracking station. Only a handful of families live there and only three supply ships call a year.
This is one of the islands where climate change is having a severe impact.
When approaching the island, call Kanton Radio on VHF 16. On arrival the officials will visit the boat to carry out clearance procedures and collect fees.

The dredged ship pass should be entered near slack water and the anchorage is inside the dredged turning basin. The natural pass is not recommended.
There is also a mooring not far from the wharf.
The village is three miles away; officials will visit the yacht.
