Varna : Profile
Port Control maintains 24 hour watch on Channels 16 and 77. Arrivals should be timed for daylight hours. Boats are normally directed to the yacht club marina, located on the starboard side of the entrance to the commercial harbour; if there is no space, an alternative is to moor on the quay south of the ferry terminal. All the appropriate officials will visit the boat and the paperwork completed onboard.
This is a very pleasant city. The pedestrian area of town runs for miles in all different directions and it would be very easy to spend weeks touring the sites of Varna, as there is so much to see.
For any repairs it is best to consult the Varna Yacht Club for advice. The club welcomes visitors, particularly at the beginning of July when it holds its annual regatta from Varna to Kavarna and a yacht can be left there if travelling inland. Water and power are available.
The best repair facilities are located in Varna, where there is also a slipway.
