In Defence of Estepona

Published 16 years ago, updated 5 years ago

We berthed at Estepona Marina to use it as a base from which to visit friends who live nearby and whilst the marinas in this area of Spain are not our favourite, we were pleasantly surprised by what we found at Estepona.

The staff were particularly friendly and went out of their way to be helpful; the showers/toilets were clean and have brand new washing and tumble drier machines available.

The ex-pat British community have made this area of the Costas, “little England”, so the town does suffer from this influence. However, the benefit is that there are many restaurants which offer a variety of fare at reasonable prices and there are two supermarkets which were within an 8-minute walk from our yacht.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this Marina to others.
