Update posted 6th July 2010
The person who found the body is a fellow cruiser and advised me that the
perp has been apprended and has confessed. The witness saw him leaving the
scene. He is in jail awaiting trial. He is a local from Antigua. Further
information is that the victim was with friends from the ship and stayed
behind alone on the beach to collect shells. Her body was found on the
trail over the hill to English Harbour.

On Tuesday January 19th 2010, the body of a young woman was discovered in scrub bushes behind Windward beach at the entrance to Falmouth harbour Antigua. She had stab wounds to the neck and was identified as American tourist, Nina Elizabeth Nilssen, a guest on a visiting cruise ship that was anchored at the entrance to the harbour for the day.
Antigua press reported this as the "first murder of the year".
The police had a description of the murderer, however at this present time no one had been aprehended.
