Goteborg : Profile
Sweden's second city is an interesting and vibrant place to visit as well as a busy commercial port. There is a wide range of docking and berthing options.
It is possible to find a quiet anchorage in the outer islands of the approaches and there are several marinas on the west coast of the mainland, just south of the river entrance. The heart of the city also houses a marina mainly for visitors. This last identified by a distinctive red and white building.
The river passing through the city leads on the the waterway generally known as the Gota Canal, allowing an inland passage through to the Baltic. This 210 mile route is an interesting cruising ground of its own.
