Description:

The most Southern Galicia harbor before Portugal, situated at the mouth of the River Minho which divides Portugal and Spain. Suitable only in calm conditions as the entrance may be impassable if the swell builds up.

The town is a busy fishing harbor, surrounded by beautiful sandy beaches and pine trees, with the pre-historic remains at Monte Tegra one of the most popular tourist destinations in Galicia.

Portugal is just a short ferry ride away.

    We anchored between the fishing boats and the southern wall. A passing fisherman made signs that this was not a good place and pointed to the northeast corner. We anchored and held well. It would appear that the original place is in the fairway used by smaller fishing vessels. In the northeast corner, we were in no one’s way
