Take a look in the local hardware stores as tools etc. are available in less obvious parts of the shop. Jack Hammer Hardware is reported to stock a comprehensive range of tools and a very long list of other lines. Some cordage is stocked but only an item or two of boat chandlery. The chandlery Sea Port Supply, in Paarden Eiland (a little further out Cape Town from The Royal Cape Yacht Club), is probably the best boat handlers in the district.

Per 1-1- 2013, yachts can NOT clear into SA in Hout Baai (or any other secondary port) Author was refused entry into marina before clearing in at Cape Town.
