Following a spate of serious flooding in Queensland, it’s advisable to check with the Maritime Safety Queensland on the state of any marinas you intend to visit. Accurate and up to date information about all the places along the QLD coastline can be found at http://www.msq.qld.gov.au/. There is information on the homepage about various ports, as well as a notice for mariners section with updates.

Flood damage reports we have received at noonsite are as follows:

Bundaberg port marina suffered some damage to about 1/4 of one of the pontoons due to runaway boats in the floods, and are currently full with another small flood just starting to subside. They will have visitor space again in the next week or so as boats start being hauled out for repair. Check http://www.bundabergportmarina.com.au/.

The flood in the Burnet River seriously affected the Midtown Marina, Bundaberg. Although the flood was not so big as the last one, the river banks were compromised and the Midtown marina building broke up and part ended in the river. Midtown Marina http://www.midtownm.com/ [BROKEN LINK] has been completely wiped out, buildings and everything.

The Mary River Marina in Maryborough (http://www.maryrivermarina.com.au/) was swamped in the latest rain event, however, they are open and functioning properly as a marina.

Tin Can Bay is fine and no damage has been reported for Urangan (Hervey Bay).
