Visit Svalbard AS is the official tourism board for Svalbard and Longyearbyen. This member based organisation is responsible for the tourist information centre and the official travel portal for Svalbard. Visit

Svalbard compiles and analyses tourism statistics and is also responsible for the Svalbard Guide Training Course.

There are a broad range of attractions all year round in Longyearbyen including cultural events, festivals and activities. There are also many bars and restaurants where people from around the globe (residents and visitors) gather to enjoy great food and drinks.

Many people are surprised to discover how much is on offer in such a small place – so close to the North Pole!
