We stayed in the Porto Esportiu and left the boat here for several weeks for travelling home. The harbour is well sheltered, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The connections to Barcelona as well as to Valencia are excellent, supermarkets are close.
The historic center is well worth a visit, the beaches are wonderful!
‘Hours of op’ should say ‘Office hours’ as berthing help is 24 hours but office closes overnight.
There is a railway station close by and a small airport with within-Europe flights.
Excellent beach near the marina (good swimming), and a spectacular (uphill, spectacular views of the Mediterranean, marina, and anchored ships) walk to the new and old parts of the city. It connects with Tarragona’s version of Barcelona’s ‘La Rambla’, with many restaurants and shops.
Address should say: ‘Catalonia’ rather than ‘Mediterranean Coast’. Catalonia is the region of Spain that a;so includes Barcelona where protests are ongoing (at 02/11/2019) as the region seeks independance from Spain.
