Gqeberha Yacht Club represents the sport of sailing both competitively and socially including cruising, and was established in order to support sailing and sailors in the Algoa Bay area. It was started after the demise of the Algoa Bay Yacht Club.  The club and extends a warm welcome to cruising sailors. GQYC has no “fixed” premises and operates as a “Virtual” Yacht Club.

There are two restaurants at the entrance to the Marina  – PEDSAC and the Nelson Mandela Yacht Club, which is a restaurant with a yacht club name.

Note:  Redhouse Yacht Club caters for dinghy sailing and Sailing PE is the keelboat sailing club in Port Elizabeth.
