For me Kalamata is associated with one name: John Vardakas (Messenian Yacht Service). He is the most excellent yacht service man I ever met. He has his store in the harbour. Ask for him at the reception, if you need anything.
The Marina itself is nice and quite, good sheltered. Friendly and helpful staff. Kalamata Airport close. The liveabords usually stay on the breakwater, where they have best shelter from the strong southerlies during winter. I had the Europa usually out of water, because I don’t stay on board over winter. Dry dock is affordable and safe.
