Grenada: MAYAG to hold meeting with cruisers to discuss security concerns

With the security situation in Grenada worsening for cruisers (see report here) the Marine & Yachting Association of Grenada (MAYAG) are keen to address the situation, starting with an informal meeting with cruisers to collect information and discuss concerns.

The informal evening will be held at the Tiki Bar, Prickly Bay on 28th August during Happy Hour. Cruisers attending will be asked to complete a survey questionnaire which asks questions about how long you have been in Grenada, an estimate of spend and the good and bad points about Grenada from a cruisers standpoint.

Anita Sutton, President of MAYAG, comments, “This questionnaire is actually very useful – the last one we did gave us evidence that 50% of yachting spend is outside the yachting industry and in the wider economy, and that safety and security are the most important considerations when cruisers decide where to go. These points are invaluable when lobbying for better security and other improvements which will enhance Grenada as a yachting destination.”

Cruisers are encouraged to attend the meeting and share concerns and comments.
