Further Update June 2012 from Yacht Raqs Shaqi

Dreging equipment with crane has arrived in Larnaca marina and it looks as if work will commence on removing the old pontoons within a few days as at 03/06/2012.The area concerned initially is the original marina pontoon in front of the offices.

Latest news from Cyprus. October 2011

Between 100 and 150 berths in Larnaca are to be vacated within the next 2 months and the yachts put on the hard, in order to rebuild and/or remove the existing pontoons. Quite a few pontoons have recently collapsed into the water through concrete cancer. There are gates now fitted on all pontoons to prevent access except at users risk.

The outer harbour is unaffected, but subject to rough seas with westerly winds.

The marine management is still very helpful to all new yachts and welcome advance warning if visiting.
