From Trevor Vincett of TV Yacht Deliveries

Recently having upgraded my mobile to an Android type Smart phone I am impressed by the downloadable Navionic chart applications.

I have a "big" HTC HD which has a 4.3 inch screen and its easy to see in great detail all the chart features. The tidal height and current pages are excellent and if in phone or wireless range one can overlay wind arrows.

In the course of our Yacht Delivery operations we have used this as an additional aid to the paper charts that we always carry but have not found any discrepancies on west European passages, UK to Western Mediterranean, UK to Canaries and Caribbean and Florida voyages.

I have just bought the Australia folio for €12 and Indian Ocean and Indonesia also for €12.

UK app was about £25 as was Western Europe which covers Denmark and Baltic Germany to the Canaries and into the Med as far east as Corsica and Sardinia.

Good product I think and better than most of the phone app "toys".
