This comprehensive guide to one of the most attractive cruising areas in the Mediterranean has been a long time coming. Its predecessor, published in 2001, was based on a cruising guide to Corsica written by Robin Brandon in the late 1970s and published by Imray in 1980, so, in spite of regular updates, it was badly out of date. All this has been put right by John Marchment who has compiled the most user-friendly cruising guide that this reviewer has come across in years. All information is clearly laid out and every port or anchorage is accompanied by a plan and often a photograph as well. Because Imray publish their own set of charts for both Corsica and Sardinia, the publishers have generously illustrated this guide with excellent chartlets that cover each individual cruising area perfectly.

In recent years the attention of most cruising sailors coming to the Mediterranean has gravitated east, to Croatia, Greece and Turkey, but as those areas become increasingly more crowded, this guide will undoubtedly tempt some sailors to explore these two islands which, with the exception of busy July and August, are an absolute delight to explore on your own keel.
