VAT for marina services - threshold lowered again

With resolution nr. 2004/8127 of 4 December 2004 the threshold for VAT exempted marina services has been limited to YTL 100,00 (100 million Turkish Liras) per invoice, this corresponds to roughly 270 Euros. Thus the great majority of marina services, including most daily moorings have been exempted again from VAT, currently 18% in Turkey for this kind of service. For more about this subject

Berthing and haulout specials at D-Marin and PBY updated

D-Marin has announced a few days ago their specials for berthing for the winter 2005/2006 and hard standing services, valid until 1 May 2006. Next to the hard standing discounts D-Marin has announced this year very reasonable prices for winter berths. Furthermore, winter berth holders will be eligible for 50% discount on travellift services and can spend two weeks on the hard within the in-water contract. Click here for more details

PBY (Yalikavak Marina) has announced that the 40% discount on their pricelists are not limited to the first 50 boats as intended earlier but continue to be valid until further notice. Attention: The 5 + 1 months for 20 Euros/sqm specials have been discontinued.

One comment: Since our last comparison a long way has been come in the Bodrum area towards reasonable marina pricing and "specials" or "discounts" seem to become the standard than the exception. The multitude of the discounts seem to perplex not only clients and a "streamlining" would be most welcome.

New Chandleries at PBY and D-Marin

Fora Yatcilik, Mr. Ali Deniz has taken over the chandlery at PBY. "Fora Ali" should be known to most yacht owners as the former concessionary of the chandlery within Milta Marina in Bodrum.

Pupa Teknik, also known from Milta Marina, has established a very well sorted chandlery at D-Marin in Turgutreis, right behind the tennis courts.
