Preparing for Patagonia

Southampton, Sunday 15 September

Learn from the world's leading high latitudes cruising sailor

Planning, preparation and places in Patagonia

Renowned expedition leader and high latitudes sailor Skip Novak will be sharing his knowledge, gained from 25 seasons sailing in southern latitudes, with cruising sailors at a special presentation in September. The "Preparing for Patagonia" lecture will focus on how to prepare boats and crew for the rigorous conditions encountered when cruising around the tip of South America. Patagonia, the region located at the southern end of South America and shared by Argentina and Chile, comprises the southern section of the Andes Mountains as they reach the sea. Very much "at the world's end", the region offers spectacular cruising in a true wilderness, where self-sufficiency and preparation are the keys to a safe and enjoyable voyage.

The 2 hour session will cover aspects of planning your voyage, the practicalities of cruising the region and an overview of some of the places on the route. Ideal for sailors wishing to learn more about cruising Patagonia. The cost is only £15 per person, including a boat show ticket and free copy of Yachting World magazine.
