In early June the total fees including taxes, water and power were 32 Euros per night for an 11.4M yacht.

There is no reception pontoon. If you don’t get a reply on the VHF Ch 9 just go straight to an available pontoon on G, H or I. If you do go on a hammerhead, do not use H, which is occupied by a trip boat.

Ayamonte Marina does have Laundry facilities. They have recently increased the cost of berthing which has opened up a lot of new berths. Quite a nice marina, not terribly expensive – just hoping for an upgrade to facilities and addition of wifi now!

Also – no issues with a 1.7m keel entering at lowest tide springs. Plenty of space (~2 meters)

Ayamonte is easy and safe, it is rather expensive, nearly the double than Vila real de San Antonio. When we came there was a lot of space available while Vila Réale marina was almost full. The later seems to be less confortable due to the current and the boats in the river, but it is more lively.

May 2018. Ayamonte is far better choice than Portuguese Vila Real de San Antonio across the river, which is subject to strong currents. Plenty of depth to enter even at low tide, still best to check beforehand with marina office. There is a slight current in the marina from the low lying areas beyond ebbing and flooding through the marina. Office hours are limited but security guard on duty 24 hrs who will handle check in after hours and provide gate lock cards. Good chandlery, restaurants, bars and supermarkets. To visit Vila Real de San Antonio a ferry goes every hour on the hour (on the half hour for the return) at a nominal cost.

Ayamonte Marina has been dredged in 2016 according to my pilot book and we’ve had no problems getting in there yesterday after coming back down the river under the bridge two hours after low water. First two pontoons (I and H) definitely have enough water for a 2m draft boat too and there was plenty of space. Some cross tide at the entrance but none inside. Friendly marina staff speaking good English. No fuel, laundry or wifi. Water and electricity on pontoons, security gates with card access, showers and toilets in office block. Paid €20 per night in early October for a 12.4m monohull.

Town offers several supermercados (Supersol a short walk away, Lidl in reach too), a well-stocked chandlery, a couple ferreterias and plenty of restaurants, bars and ice cream vendors.

We have just arrived in Ayamonte on a Hylas 49 with a 2 meter draft. We arrived at low tide and had over 3 meters depth from the entrance to the dock. We were told they dredged the entire Marina late last year.

We visited Ayamonte in January 2015. Still of little use to most yachts due to limited depths. No evidence of any on-going or imminent dredging. Some yachts anchor over the shallows SE of the entrance, behind the green channel marker.
