Description:

Saint Pierre on the south-west coast welcomes yachts. It is a charming place and very French – almost like being somewhere on the French Riviera with street cafes and little bars and bistros.

See https://www.tco.re/plaisance/port-de-plaisance-de-saint-pierre/ for details.

Entrance Notes and Cautions:

The port entrance is quite difficult and the approach can look a little daunting, however, there are clear range markers. If the swell is too high, the harbor will be closed. Call in advance on Ch.16 or 09 if possible.

The approach heading leading to the first pair of markers is 354 degrees true. The second pair of markers leads through the entrance on a bearing of 029 degrees true. When level with the port side breakwater (red light) favor that side and pass between a red beacon and two green buoys to reach the marina. The water on the starboard side of those buoys is shallow.

Position:

21° 20’52″S, 55° 28’39″E (harbor entrance)

    Data Entry3 says:

Phone # for Capitainerie above is misprinted. Corrected, it reads 0262-32-32-67 or 0262-32-32-65. Alternate email is [email protected] We were told to call the Capitainerie on VHF 16 or 09 before entering the channel, but had no luck on either. We made the entrance and docked at the concrete wall below the tower. Depth at the dock at low tide approx 2m. It gets deeper further west down the wall.
