Description:
This island lies just south of Kos. It is the remains of an extinct volcano and its rich soil supports many olive and citrus groves. Palon, in particular, is an attractive spot to spend a day or two.

May 8th, 2016. Dredging completed, we noticed 2.2 meters at one point when entering, in the harbour 3 meters plus. Thanks to the dredging the harbour capacity has increased significantly.
It is now possible to Moore on the south side as well as the north side of the harbour. From May 1st till the end of the season there is a charge, for our 14-meter boat it came to 7.56 euro.
There are connections for power and water, for which there was no charge when we were there. We did not test the water connection so do not know if they work.
Palon is very pretty with restaurants (free wifi for patrons) a small supermarket, bakery and scooter rental, convenient for visiting the crater.

The harbour is being dredged as we speak. At the moment you have to pass very close to the rocks on the north side. We found a min of 2.5m although I guess it will get deeper once dredging has finished.
Power and water is charged at 5 E each per night. No berthing fee is being charged at the moment but I think that will change soon.
