 Anguilla - General Info

Time Zone

UTC -4
Daylight Saving Time is not observed.

Yachting Essentials

Electricity
Voltage: 110v
Frequency: 60Hz

Water
Fresh potable water is available at EC$0.10 per gallon at Road Bay but the tap is usually locked. It is uncertain who has the key.
Bottled water is the best alternative for drinking water.

Fuel
Fuel is avaialable at Blowing Point.

Money

The local currency is the Eastern Caribbean dollar (EC$). It is fixed to the US Dollar at EC$2.7 = 1 US Dollar.

US Dollars are accepted everywhere, including government offices.

Most major credit cards are accepted in hotels, and in most restaurants and shops.

There are several ATMs at various places arround the island.

The I cent and 2 cent EC coins have been withdrawn from circulation. These coins are no longer valid. A price rounding system has been implemented within the ECCU countries for the settlement of cash transactions only, where the total payment is rounded to the nearest five cents. Non-cash payments using cheques, debit and credit cards are not affected and are not rounded.

Communications

International dialing code for Anguilla is +1 264.

Digicel update December 2014:
Anyone cruising through the islands using Digicel should be aware that you cannot top up a sim from one island in another as used to be able to. So if for example you want to use the sim bought here while cruising through other islands, you should either put on a large enough sum to cover your needs, or you can set up an account and do it online, but you cannot get it topped up in another island.
You can top-up Digicel at
https://online-top-up.digicelgroup.com/

Transport

There is an airport just south of The Valley with flights to nearby islands but the airline hub for this area is in Sint Maarten.

There is no public transport, only taxis.
