• for boats arriving from across the Atlantic, Cul-de-Sac Marin is perhaps a more convenient port to clear in. There is now a large charter base there.

The island has a high rainfall due to the mountains. Wet season: June to November; The high humidity is made tolerable by the steady trade winds. Hurrican season: July to November.
