Wexford : Profile
Wexford is an important retail centre for the south eastern corner of Ireland. The town lies on the south side of the harbour, in the estuary of the River Slaney.
This harbour is best entered 2 hours each side of HW. In strong on-shore winds the seas can break over the bar. Take care to follow the marked channel. Yachts berth on the long pontoon just below the bridge. There is a sheltered anchorage in 2.3m off the town quays, but the tidal streams can be strong.
